Each year our unique personal cave tours guide adventurers of all abilities and age groups into the spectacular Ruakuri Cave. We operate two legendary tours and combo packages that accommodate most ages and adventure levels. We guarantee each person an entertaining time when visiting the Waitomo Caves Region.

The popular Black Labyrinth is the classic underground cave tubing encounter that gave us international fame! Weave, jump and float your way through the glowworm flecked underworld of Ruakuri Cave on this three hour journey.

The Black Abyss is a premium adventure expedition that plays with your senses and provides an unforgettable thrill. Our qualified guides instruct you in abseiling techniques before your five hour caving experience. A magical blend of abseiling, climbing and floating through a unique underground river section of the Ruakuri Cave.

Both adventure tours necessitate a moderate level of fitness and minimum age restrictions apply. All equipment including footwear, tubes, wetsuits, helmets, abseiling devices and safety equipment is provided just bring your swimwear, a towel and a sense of adventure! After your tour, return to Black Water HQ for a complimentary hot shower, hearty soup and a bagel.
